Title Amendment

Home / Titles / Title Amendment

Name Change

If you’ve legally changed your personal name or updated your business name (e.g., converting from a sole proprietorship to an LLC or Corporation), your title must reflect the correct ownership.

We’ll need:

  • Current title
  • Proof of legal name change (e.g., court order, business registration, Articles of Incorporation or Amendment)
  • Driver’s license or updated business documents
  • Power of Attorney (if required – we provide this if a lienholder is involved)

Address Change

When your business or home address changes, your title should be updated to avoid problems with registration, renewals, or legal notifications.

We’ll need:

  • Current title
  • Proof of new address (e.g., utility bill, lease, updated license or registration)
  • Driver’s license or business documentation
  • Power of Attorney (if applicable)

Lienholder Change

Adding, removing, or correcting a lienholder on your title? We help ensure lien information is accurate, whether you’re paying off a loan or transferring financing to a new lender.

We’ll need:

  • Current title
  • Lien release from previous lender (if removing a lien)
  • New lienholder information (if adding or correcting)
  • Power of Attorney signed by the lienholder (TFIG will supply this form)
  • Driver’s license or company documents

TFIG will review your documents, prepare the necessary forms, and submit the amendment to the appropriate DMV or titling agency. We handle the details so you can stay focused on your business.
